Badge 2 Reflection:
How can social media tools help us use and manage information we find?
By completing all the relevant exercises associated within this badge (Badge 2) I have acquired a vast amount of learning and numerous new technological skills through using social media tools, that help us to use and manage the information we find. I feel that social media tools have a great influence in helping us to use and manage the various sources of information that we find.
One way in which social media tools help us to use and manage the information that we find is through helping us organise all relevant materials that can easily be retrieved at a later date. For example, one social media tool called ‘Apture’, a handy plug-in that finds photos, videos, links and related content that you can embed or link to within your posts with a single click. Extremely handy for locating and adding links to specific Web pages. Meaning all information can be retrieved at a later time. (Baer, 2008)
Another way in which social media tools help us to use and manage the information and taking into account what I have learned about social media and their impact on our studies and everyday lives from Badge 2, helped me think about the role of social media tools in our digital worlds it is evident that the way we use and manage the information that we find is through connecting users together to allow them to make use and manage various different forms of information. According to Jeffrey (2012) this is all connected to a new digital dark age.
